In mid-2011, I was contacted by the team at the Disney Parks Blog, asking if I might be interested in creating some digital wallpapers that could be offered via the site to promote upcoming events, or locations. They had remembered the work I had done as a Contributing Artist on Disney's Virtual Magic Kingdom.
The first project they assigned me was to create a digital wallpaper to promote Disney's newest resort property, Aulani. They provided several reference images, some backstory on the resort, and a few culturally-significant items I should be aware of. One week later, I submitted the first version of what would later become my first wallpaper release.
Each new assignment was an opportunity for me to expand my understanding of Adobe Photoshop, and I leveraged each release to try new techniques and try to find my own unique "style" of art. By the time of my final release with the Blog in 2019, I had gotten to a point where I felt my "style" of work had finally started to emerge.
Over the course of 8 years (in addition to my normal 9-5 role with Disney), I would create over 18 digital wallpapers, several temporary Blog logos, and multi-platform infographics for the Disney Parks Blog. The digital wallpapers would remain available for complimentary download until they were archived as part of the Blog's redesign in 2024.
